Get your dancing shoes on, The Glides California Dreamin’ Tour will bring their retro, power, grooves up and down the California Coast all week long.
“There is a moment along this path of life where music gnaws at you like a raw bone. It is a deep bleed within a musician’s marrow that pulsates this continual drive of jamming your tunes and performing the groove.” – The Glides
Tuesday, July 26th will kick off the tour at The Field Irish Pub in San Diego.
On Wednesday night,The Glides will make their way up to The LBC, bringing the retro dance party to DiPiazza’s on the Pacific Coast Highway.
“The Glides are a fresh take on retro swank ‘n blues. The Glides front man, Travis Kenny is the adoptive son of Long Beach California. It was the summer of 2002 when Travis was out on the “Who Cares Tour” and their bus broke down not too far from Dipiazza’s.
Fate had her way as Travis met Mark and Marilyn DiPiazza, and behold a fast and long relationship swelled from there.
It was through their friendship that Mark became very influential not only in obtaining music gigs, Melissa Etheridge’s bar, “Que Sera” and but nightly gigs at Dipiazza but he also opened the door for networking. Mark was also influential when Travis Kenny became a stand-up comedian, Mark was active in booking Travis Kenny’s form of stand-up guitar comedy.
This July 27th as Travis Kenny and his band, The Glides swing into LB on their latest tour and we are reaching out to the shakers and movers of the Long Beach Music and Art Scene to help spread the word!
We can email a flyer to share in the creative artistic community of LBC’s very own adoptive son, Travis Kinney and his band, The Glides. We are looking to fill the house come July 27th and by doing that we all can show our appreciation for the Dipiazza’s!”
Thursday, night, The Glides will head back down south to Oceanside with a show at the Fire Water Saloon.
Friday, the party makes its way northward to Bakersfield where The Glides California Dreamin’ Tour will make a stop at Riley’s Tavern.
The band with wrap up the tour on Saturday, July 30th (and celebrate Rikki Stixx’s birthday) way up north in Quincy, California at the Main Street Sports Bar & Lounge.
